Once you’ve picked what wireless microphone is right for you, you’re probably wondering how to setup your wireless microphone system.
Before you get started, you will need the following equipment:
- Wireless Microphone Receiver
- Wireless Microphone / Transmitter
- 2 x Antenna
- 1 x XLR Cable
- 1 x Power Supply
- Sound System to Connect To
Follow the steps below, and you’ll have your wireless microphone setup as quick as possible!
- Connect Antenna (x2) to the rear of the Wireless Receiver
Typically using BNC connectors. Point the Antenna up and away from each other, making a 90 degree angle.
- Plug in Power Supply / Power Cable
If your power supply doesn’t lock, do your best to secure it so the power cable cannot be removed.
- Connect XLR Cable
Run the XLR Cable from the back of the wireless receiver to the mixer or powered speaker that you are using.
- Set the Mic/Line Level Switch Appropriately.
If you’re plugging the receiver into a speaker, use the line level. If you’re plugging the receiver into a mixer, use mic level.
- Set Address/Frequency on the Receiver
Be sure to select a frequency that isn’t in use nearby.
- Set Address/Frequency on the Transmitter
Use the same frequency that you’re using on the receiver.
Make sure the gain is set appropriately and that you do not have any static when you are using the microphone.
